Inside Out 2 returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley just as headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up. And it looks like she’s not alone.

Riley’s emotions happily take care of her at hockey games, preparing her for high school. Working in tandem, the emotions team oversaw the creation of a basement at headquarters called “Self-Sense,” where they stored memories that shaped Riley’s character. This led to the creation of clues that expressed Riley’s inner self: “I am a good person.” Joy also created a tube that shoots scary memories she wants to forget into the “back of her head.” Riley wants to join her high school’s hockey team, the Firehawks, and this emotion makes Riley feel at her best.
